Council Public Hearings on 10/14/2025
10/9/2025
There is a lot on the upcoming agenda at the City Council's public meeting next Tuesday night, 10/14/2025 at 6PM. Find all the documents before the Council for discussion, decision, recommendation to award, etc. here:

The meeting will be held at 206 Main Street, Three Forks.
- Been following the Zoning Code Rewrite? This is the meeting where the first readings of five new Zoning Chapters will be read as we work on the Zoning Code & Subdivision Regulations rewrite project.
- There is also a first reading amending the "Additional Dog Permit" process. Currently, we notify neighbors for 300-feet (excluding public right-of-ways) and this is more than we do for Zoning, Subdivision, or Annexation applications - so we proposed reducing the neighbor notice to 150-feet.
- The meeting also has a resolution to consider increasing the number of allowed chicken permits by 10, to a total of 40.
- We also are asking the Council to pick an alternate date for its first meeting in November since it will fall on Veteran's Day.
-
This meeting will also hear the staff recommendation to remove the additional steps the City takes to place water/sewer accounts in tenant names. The proposal is to eliminate the requirement for the City to hold a $100 deposit on tenant accounts and apply them to all existing accounts, as well as no longer putting the account in the tenant's name but instead leaving it in the owner's name. The tenant can still get a bill emailed to them so they know the actual bill amount - there is no need to estimate the cost. The tenant can still come in and pay on the address they reside at. Staff is not proposing changing this to existing accounts in tenant names - just new accounts. If you're uncertain about this process, please click the link above and read the draft resolution and the questions still posed to the Council in track changes. If you wrote a letter of opposition previously, you were emailed directly notifying you of this upcoming hearing.
-
There are also other resolutions (like amending our mills to be levied - the total is the same, the wording is being changed to reflect the new requirements of 15-10-420, CMA) - but probably not that interesting to much of the public. However, please read the agenda in the link above to see all items before the Council for decision.
You can also watch the meeting via Facebook, but we do not monitor public comments this way because there is a 2-3 minute delay from what is happening live. If you wish to participate, please attend in person or contact City Hall to get the Zoom link so you can participate live.
