Floodplain Permits

APPLICATION has been made by Mickie & Ron Imberi (Fiddle Lot 1st Ave LLC) for a FLOODPLAIN PERMIT from the City of Three Forks.  The location for this construction is Block 1, Lot 24-25 & North 14’ of Lot 26 of the Buttelmans addition, (Plat D-34), also known as 132 E Front Street, Three Forks, MT.  The applicant requests to remove damaged and burnt materials to make home livable. Plans and specifications for this project can be viewed at the Three Forks City Office at 206 Main Street, Three Forks MT, or found on the City website at www.threeforksmontana.us.

Public comment will be taken in support of and in opposition to this request for 15 calendar days from December 27, 2025, the date of the first posting.  Written testimony is preferred and may be submitted to ksmith@threeforksmontana.us or to PO Box 187, Three Forks, MT 59752. Zoning Issues

There are several Zoning Chapters being amended and some new ones on the way as well.  The Zoning & Planning board has been meeting additional dates outside of their regularly scheduled 3rd Thursday of the month.  Their next meeting is 11/20 at 6:30PM held at City Hall, 206 S. The Three Forks Zoning & Planning Board will hold a public hearing on  January 15, 2026, at 6:30PM at City Hall located at 206 S. Main Street, Three Forks, Montana.  The purpose is to present two drafted ordinances regulating the use of City right-of-ways by Telecommunication Service Providers and Small Cell Regulations.  Then the ordinances will be heard before the City Council (see below).

 

City Council Public Hearings

  • Second Reading of the following Zoning Ordinances is yet to be set, knowing the existing numbering will be affected until all chapters are adopted:
    • Title 11 Zoning Regulations, Chapter 1: Purpose – Authority – Jurisdiction – Basic Principles
    • Title 11 Zoning Regulations, Chapter 2: Vested Rights – Nonconforming Lots, Uses, Structures
    • Title 11 Zoning Regulations, Chapter 3 Zoning Districts; Boundaries with Chapter 3: Actors in the Administration of these Regulations
    • Title 11 Zoning Regulations, Chapter 5 Agricultural Districts with Chapter 5: Zoning Permit Procedures
    • Title 11 Zoning Regulations, Chapter 7: Appeals and Variance Procedures

These hearings will be held at City Hall located at 206 S. Main Street, Three Forks, Montana.  The drafts may all be found on our website at www.threeforksmontana.us/public-notices.

The Three Forks City Council will hold a public hearing on January 13, 2026, at 6:00PM to hear a resolution to rescind Resolution #243-2015, which set a $100 deposit requirement for all water/sewer accounts in tenant names, and to amend the adopted Fee Schedule to reflect this change.

The hearing will be held at City Hall located at 206 S. Main Street, Three Forks, Montana.  The drafted resolution may all be found on our website at www.threeforksmontana.us/packet-for-upcoming-council-meeting.
